Great Morning for Brandon!
Brandon had a great morning, yeah! I held my breath as I buckeled him in and drove him to school and walked him down the hallway to his classroom. A kiss and a hug and he was off to put his lunch box away and have a great day with no tears or hiding under a desk or behind a bookcase. I was so relieved when I walked out of the school. I hope it continues next Monday after 2 days off.

Worst morning for Brandon
Well, I just returned from taking Brandon to school and it was his worst morning yet, kind of traumatic. I had to get him out from the back of the van and use all my strength to get him into his car seat and buckled. He doesn't want to go to school. I had to pry him out of his car seat once we got to the school and take him in. I got him back to his classroom and he started crying really loud and he went and found a corner by a bookcase to hide and cry. I gave him one more hug and kiss and he didn't want to let go of me.
The first 3 days of school went great, but on the fourth day he started having some difficulty. Monday night a week ago he had a little accident that landed him in the E.R. I didn't know it, but he was jumping on the couch and he fell on his neck on the edge of an end table. I was in the kitchen and I came around the corner and found Brandon with both hands clutching his neck and a delayed scream. He had a red line the whole way accross his neck and was crying and he said it hurt really bad. Thankfully Patrick was just walking in the door, so I took Brandon to the hospital with Cara sitting right beside him to make sure he was breathing okay. They took him in pretty quick and put in and IV so that they could inject him with iodine for a CT Scan and thankfully it came back normal. Anyway, I kept him home from school that Tuesday and then Wednesday he said his tummy hurt so he didn't make it to school that day. So, he went in on Thursday and every day since then he has not been happy to go to school. He spent about an hour under the table and one of the guidance counselors came and talked him out. Once he gets over the initial separation in the morning then he is fine the rest of the day. I saw him at lunch several days, either I was helping out or I went in just to have lunch with him, and he was fine and had no problem saying goodbye to me after lunch. So, please pray that it gets easier for him (and mom). He told me that he wants to stay home with me and it breaks my heart to see him so upset.

Back to School
Well, it's hard to believe that summer is over and my kids are back at school and I am sad. My baby started kindergarten 1 week ago today and I miss him terribly! I actually miss all three of them and wish that summer was forever, except for the heat. Brandon is in all day kindergarten (which is new to our school this year), Evan is in 3rd grade and Cara is in 7th grade. This is Cara's second year of middle school and she really likes having a little more freedom in school to walk through the halls and socialize with her friends. She is playing clarinet again this year in the band and playing soccer again through a rec league. Evan is doing really well, he isn't interested in organized sports, but he does play wiffleball with us and he loves riding his scooter (manual, not motorized) every day. Brandon is also playing soccer again and loves it! We had lots of fun this summer going swimming, going to Pennsylvania to visit family, going to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for 3 days and going to the National Aquarium in Baltimore! I am trying to get adjusted to my new schedule of waking at 6am and I am looking forward to having some time at home to get organized, but so far I haven't been home much during the day. I have been volunteering in the elementary school a lot more this year than I have in a while because for the first time I don't have any kids at home with me during the day, poor me.
